Orthodontics Isn't an Add-On Here.

Providence Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics was created from the beginning as one home for specialty pediatric dentistry and specialty orthodontics.

Orthodontic care is personally led by Dr. Adam Danze, while pediatric dental care is led by Dr. Kaitlin Danze. For children who receive both services in the practice, the doctors can communicate directly, coordinate recommendations and follow dental development in one familiar, welcoming environment.

That means less fragmented care for parents, and a more thoughtful experience for children as they grow from their first dental visits into the years when orthodontic guidance may become important.

Two Board-Certified Specialists Each doctor remains focused on the specialty they were extensively trained to provide.

Braces and clear aligners are tools. The expertise comes from the diagnosis, planning and oversight behind them. Dr. Adam recommends the approach that best fits your bite, age, goals and daily habits.

Good Questions Deserve Clear Answers.

Here are the questions Charlotte families and adults ask most often before scheduling an orthodontic consultation.

Ask Dr. Adam at a Consultation
What should I look for when choosing an orthodontist near me in Charlotte?
Look beyond the appliance being advertised. Consider whether the doctor is an orthodontic specialist, how involved the doctor remains throughout treatment, whether the office treats your age group, how clearly options are explained and whether the location is practical for recurring visits. Dr. Adam is a board-certified orthodontist who personally treats children, teens and adults at Providence PDO's Providence Road office.
At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an initial orthodontic checkup by age seven. This does not mean every seven-year-old needs braces. The purpose is to identify how the jaws, permanent teeth and bite are developing and decide whether observation, early treatment or a later reevaluation is appropriate.
Does Dr. Adam provide orthodontic treatment for adults?
Yes. Dr. Adam treats children, teens and adults. Adult treatment may address crowding, spacing, bite concerns, orthodontic relapse or tooth positioning related to restorative or cosmetic care. Learn more about adult orthodontics in Charlotte.
How do I know whether braces or Invisalign is better for me?
The better option depends on your bite, tooth movements needed, age, desired appearance, daily habits and ability to wear removable aligners consistently. Dr. Adam evaluates those factors before explaining which options can appropriately accomplish your goals.
Can my child receive pediatric dental and orthodontic care in the same practice?
Yes. Dr. Kaitlin leads pediatric dentistry and Dr. Adam leads orthodontics. For children who receive both services at Providence Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, the doctors can communicate directly and coordinate recommendations while each remains focused on their own specialty.
What happens during the first orthodontic consultation?
The team gathers the diagnostic information needed for a meaningful evaluation. Dr. Adam examines the teeth, bite and facial structures, then discusses whether treatment is needed, the recommended timing, suitable options and expected next steps. When treatment is recommended, the team also reviews fees, estimated insurance benefits and payment choices.
Do you work with orthodontic insurance?
Yes. At Providence Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, we accept assignment of benefits from most insurance plans and are happy to file claims on your behalf. Since orthodontic benefits can vary by plan, our treatment coordinator will review your estimated coverage, expected out of pocket costs, and available payment options with you before treatment begins.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Treatment time varies based on the complexity of the bite, the movements required, growth, the chosen appliance and patient cooperation. Dr. Adam provides a personalized estimate after reviewing your diagnostic records rather than giving every patient the same timeline.
